SHIITAKE mushrooms and it's benefits

Shiitake have been cultivated for thousands of years and are commonly consumed all over Asia, and the rest of the world. It contains a specific polysaccharide called lentinan which makes it stand out for it’s immune system effects.

  • Promote heart health: Shiitake mushrooms actually contain compounds that act like statins; compounds known to reduce the levels of LDL cholesterol in our blood. Its phytonutrients prevent plaques from building up in arterial walls.
  • Powerful antioxidant: This mushroom has the highest levels of the powerful antioxidant ergothoneine.
  • Immune system stimulant: The polysaccharides in shiitake stimulate the immune system, as they do in the other mushrooms we discuss.
  • Anti-cancer & anti-tumor effects: A specific polysaccharide called letinan has been shown to inhibit the growth and spread of leukemia cells.
